Programs Used: Windows Movie Maker Live, Zamzar.com

Scope of Knowledge:
This lab include the use of two different platforms in order to create on final outcome. First we used a website called www.zamzar.com . This platform allows for users to take a videolink and convert it into a usable video file for users to use for their own purposes.

The next portion was to use a program called Windows Movie Maker Live to take two Zamzar movies and make a unique movie out of them. Windows Movie Maker Live features the ability to compile videos, edit/combine videos, and include features such as transitions, animations, and titles. This is a free movie making program (included with windows 7) and includes many premium services that can make users comfortable with the process of making homemade, self-edited movies that can look professional if done correctly.

The Excel Lab

Programs Used: Microsoft Excel

Scope of Knowledge: Excel is an electronic spreadsheet program whose options for manipulating numbers have made it the most popular spreadsheet program in the world. Its widespread use makes it easy to exchange files with almost anyone, or to display information in printed form. Because it is part of the Microsoft Office Suite, it can easily exchange data with that suite’s database, word processing and presentation program.

The PowerPoint Lab

Programs Used: PowerPoint

Scope of Knowledge:
PowerPoint is a program used to create presentations that are easily designed and shared. For this lab I displayed the many different features that PowerPoint has at it’s disposal such as animation in transitions, titles, and body, and easy to navigate click to display features. PowerPoint also features the ability to include charts, graphs, and smart art, as well as being able to integrate multimedia of all types including video, picture, and hyperlinks.

The Webpage/Google sites Lab

Programs used: Google sites

Scope of Knowledge: Google sites is a fast and easy way to develop website on the fly. The reason why google sites is convenient to use is the fact that user sites are connected through there google account (gmail, youtube, etc.) and are easily created, organized, and shared through your account. Another great feature is the fact that you can use templates provided by google that will aid in the design and creation of your google website.

The Web 2.0 Lab

Programs Used: The program used for this lab is a site called protopage.

Scope of Knowledge: Protopage is basically a RSS reader that compiles all desired RSS feeds (personally chosen) to be displayed in one, easy, compact site. Rss feeds are a condensed version of popular sites that links headlines, videos, and articles into an access format. What is unique about Protopage is that you can adjust the size of each individual RSS feed and place them as desired to achieve maximum personalization not accessible in many RSS readers.
